Legal Nurse Consultants’ Fears
Legal nurse consultants’ fears often center around interacting with attorneys. They may be fearful of rejection, of not pleasing their clients, or of failing in their analysis of a case.
Legal nurse consultants’ fears – dissected
You know that feeling of apprehension, anxiety or avoidance you get when you have to do something difficult, different or distasteful? That comes from fear. What would it be worth to you to learn how to live your life and run your business without letting your fears hold you back? You can.
Fear is something that we all experience. There is no one who is fearful, except maybe for the occasional psychopath. But for the rest of us, fear regularly plays a part in our lives.
Just because it plays a part, though, does not mean that it cannot be minimized. I can. I know that I have learned how to live beyond fear in my life.
How to tackle legal nurse consultants’ fears
The first step comes in learning more about fear. What is fear? Why do we have it? Is it natural?
I like to look at my process as being represented by three E’s: Educate, Explore and Expand.
Let me explain. The first thing I do is educate my coaching clients about fear. The more you know about it, the more comfortable you become. You are able to recognize when fear is having an impact on your performance, productivity and personal satisfaction.
These three things are inextricably connected. If you are in fear at work, in your career or your personal life your performance suffers. You spend too much of your valuable time worried about the future. You start imagining all of the bad things that can happen.
Your performance suffers. When that happens you become less productive and that leads to a loss of esteem and personal satisfaction. Unavoidably that then circles back to have a negative impact of your performance. Pretty soon you are in a downward spiral of failure.
You can turn all of this around. People do it all the time. It takes work, though. That is why the first step of education is so important. Information is power. And when you establish your power over fear you, too, will be able to say, “I live beyond fear.” You will be able to tackle legal nurse consultants’ fears and triumph.
