How to Accomplish the Impossible

medical record analysis challengesStarting a successful LNC business seems impossible for many. Surviving the first few years and growing a successful LNC business is also a challenge.

Do you ever tell yourself that something is impossible? If you believe that, you are sure to not achieve it. Here’s another perspective on the issue:

1. Realize that “impossible” is a relative term.

What you view as impossible is not always accurate.

Granted, there are some things I will never do because those activities are not important to me. I am never going to run a marathon. I am okay with admitting that and am in awe of people who participate in Iron Man competitions.

You might say, “It would be impossible for me to become a world-famous opera singer.”

A nondescript guy named Paul Potts who sold mobile car phones in England might have said the same thing. Although he had been a dedicated amateur opera singer for much of his life, his professional career didn’t begin until he was 37. He auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent. He won the competition and went on to make an album, which sold two million copies.

Paul Potts had no magic connections. His magic was his commitment to do what he loved and his faith in himself. That can make the difference between “impossible” and “possible.”

2. How Much Do You Want to Do What You Think is Impossible?

It’s probably easier to build an LNC business than to become a world-famous opera singer, so you already have an advantage.

Do you have a dream of success?
  • How big is your commitment to make success possible?
  • How much are you willing to do to turn “impossible” into “possible”?

I have encountered LNCs who wanted a successful LNC business but were not willing to do the work to build the business.

Persistence builds businesses, dedication, giving up TV, limiting time spent on email, staying away from the temptations of Facebook and YouTube.

Do you know how easy it is to get sucked into, “I’ll watch one more video….?” I do – late at night when my brain Is idling, Facebook offers me just one more video – of cats, tornadoes, car accidents, young men building structures in Africa…the list goes on.

To tackle the impossible, I’m not asking if you’re willing to sacrifice your health or family and social life. Are you willing to believe in yourself? Are you willing to face your doubts whenever they arise and replace them with conviction?

3. Are You Willing to Make a List of Practical Goals?

Imagine your LNC business as a resounding success. What is that like for you? You may be already there – the phone rings, cases walk in the door, you get referrals and repeat business.

My LNC business achieved that success and I loved the experience.

When you can vividly imagine success, it is equally necessary to take the steps to make it happen.

LNCs often hesitate at this point because when it comes down to the real work, it seems too overwhelming. This is why dreamers most easily become doers when they make lists of doable steps tied to goals.

Decide how much you’re going to do each day, week, and month, and then do it. I find that putting my activities on my Google calendar makes all the difference in my ability to track them and accomplish them.

4. Are You Willing to Be Patient?

Don’t expect daily miracles or transformations. Showing up every day to do what needs to be done demonstrates your commitment.

At the end of each month, take the time to review. Look at your revenue and expenses. Have the changes you’ve initiated so far yielded positive results? Do they need to be fine-tuned?

5. Are You Willing to Go Public with Your Dream?

There’s nothing like accountability to make things happen so you can achieve the impossible. You don’t have to tell the world what you’re doing. Tell your employees. Tell your family. Tell trusted friends.

Persistence and determination can help you realize your dream. Even better, they will help you develop a pattern of behavior that will serve you every day of your life.
