Here’s where a lot of legal nurse consultants get it wrong. They start to worry about money, and that worry leads to poor decisions that ultimately have a negative impact not just on finances, but—maybe more importantly—on morale, too. Maybe you know what I’m talking about.

Fear-based Decisions Lead You to Take on The Wrong Client

When business is down, it can be tough to keep your ideal client avatar in mind. Instead, you jump at the chance to work with any attorney who comes along. Your fear-based decision is driving you.

The trouble with this scenario is you can find yourself with a roster full of black flag clients who:

  • Aren’t willing or able to pay their bills
  • Spend all their time telling you why your invoice is too large
  • Drain your energy and make you dread their phone calls

Take a Deep Breath

Instead of panicking, revisit your description of your ideal client. During the initial contact with an attorney prospect, listen for signals in how the attorney talks to you. Are you hearing messages that indicate the attorney is anxious for your help?
Or are you hearing a lot of questions trying to pin you down to the number of hours it will take to review the case before you even see the records?
