One of the myths is the Kevin Costner Field of Dreams quote which says, “If you build it, they will come. If you build it, they will come.” I know some LNCs believe that if they have a website built or build it themselves, they will have online real estate. Attorneys will just come to their site.

That’s really not the truth. You can have a website, but if nobody knows about it they’re not going to find you. They’re not going to come to your door. That’s why traffic is so important. When you build your website that’s only Step 1 of a whole bunch of different activities that has to happen in order to be successful online.

Promoting a website is a lot like promoting a book. I do a lot of publishing and writing. Simply writing the book is not the end of everything. I have to promote it, do webinars on the topic, write blogs about it, and create videos about it. There’s a whole plan in place in order to become a successful author. The same thing is true with your website.

3 Ways to Promote LNC Website Traffic

1. Tell people about your site. We usually start out by sending an email to our friends and family saying, “Hey go check out my website.” In a sense that’s a form of traffic. People are going to your website. Ask for family and friends for their opinions about the site. How easy is it to use? Is there anything that is confusing? Make changes.

2. Promote the site through social media. Social media and promotions of websites to drive traffic to get people to your website are effective.

The thing about social media (and by social media I’m talking about Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) you can easily tell people about your website, what you’re doing, what you have on there and provide a link back to your website or back to that blog post or article.

If you’re on Facebook, you automatically have an audience of people that are your friends, contacts or business associates and the same thing with LinkedIn. When you publish something on your wall or you post an article in there, you can have a link back to your website and people will find you that way.

These are very cost effective ways because there’s no cost to it. You can send out a tweet on Twitter to people and let them know that here’s a great article. Include an image so it will catch their attention. That itself will create LNC website traffic.

You have probably seen these when you log into Facebook on the side. The advantage of Facebook and Google Ads and different types of advertising is that you really can get targeted to the audience that you want to reach.

When you just post on your Facebook wall who’s going to see it? Just some of your friends, family and acquaintances. Not everybody is going to see it. If legal nurse consulting is your niche and you want to attract and work with attorneys, chances are the people that you interact with on Facebook may not be all attorneys. You may realize if you just post it on your wall all my friends and family are going to see it, but that’s not going to get you business.

When you actually pay for that traffic or pay for those ads you can say, “I want to show this ad to attorneys in this particular geographic area with this type of specialty.” You can really narrow down the demographics of who is going to actually see your ad. When they see that, if they are interested they’re going to click on it and that can result in LNC website traffic.

In my opinion, Facebook advertising is best done by someone who really understands it. The rules and features periodically change. I’ve dabbled in it and would hire someone to help me next time.

Promoting a website takes money and effort. You can expedite the process by advertising. I recommend that if you want LNC website traffic, consider all of these methods.
